NATIONAL COMPUTER LITERACY EXCELLENCE AWARD - 2004

At a National Award Distribution function held at Vigyan Bahavan, New Delhi on 7th December 2005, Christ Nagar Senior Secondary School, Thiruvallom, was picked up for the National Computer Literacy Excellence Award 2004(second place) for the school's distinguished performance in imparting computer education. The award instituted by the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of communication and Information, Government of India and carrying a prize amount of 5 Lakhs besides a trophy was presented to the school principal Fr. Dr. Mathew Thengumpally by the President of India. This is in addition to the state level 'Computer literacy Award 2004' (first place) recieved from the President at the same Award distribution function. This award carries an additional prize amount of 1.5 Lakhs besides a trophy.

STATE COMPUTER LITERACY EXCELLENCE AWARD - 2004

     Christ Nagar Senior Secondary School, Thiruvallom has been selected by the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communication and information Technology Government of India for the State Computer Literacy Award for schools for the year 2004. The award given in recognition of the best computer Education imparted in schools in line with the National Government policies include a sum of Rs.1,50,000, a memento and a citation. It will be presented to the school Principal by the President of India at an Award distribution function to be held in New Delhi on 7th December 2005.

     The curriculum and syllabus followed in the school are those prescribed by the ICSE board. Regular monthly tests and terminal exams are conducted based on the topic covered each month and term respectively. The audio visual periods help the students to learn and comprehend things visually. The students were shown CD’s related to different subjects. The primary section has a separate library of their own in this school. Learning rhymes through music with rhythm make the classes more enjoyable.
